URABUTE Cheryl Johnson Artist. YOU ARE A BEAUTY. Playful Contemporary Art.

INSPIRED BY

Presenting a curiously interesting thought-provoking selection of writing, interviews, discussions and reviews.

John Chamberlin is one of my favorite artists who creates wonderful sculptures made from crushed cars.

"Every material has a different density, different weight . . . Every hand squeezes differently. In finding your place in sculpture, you need to find the material that offers you just the right resistance. As it turns out, car metal offers me the correct resistance so that I can make a form—not overform it or underform it."

Larry Bell's Trippy Screenprints at ARTSPACE

The artist Larry Bell was one of the key figures to emerge as part of the 1960s Light and Space movement, making spare, geometric sculptures that married Minimalism with the high-tech materials then appearing in Southern California's aerospace industry.

Save our Planet Recycle Plastic

This site is worth showing as the ocean is filled with too much plastic. I lived in Kauai for several years and was amazed how plastic accumulates.

The EcoBrick Exchange (EBE) is an environment awareness enterprise that facilitates the construction of preschools in underprivileged communities using unrecyclable plastic waste.

We do this by using EcoBricks - plastic waste compressed into PET-bottles - a highly insulating building material that is water-, fire- and even bullet-proof.
