CROW

Crows have a centuries-old reputation for collecting shiny things. It makes sense, then, one of my first pieces would be something to "Crow About"—Some days I am an assemblage artist who has obsessively gathered found, forgotten objects. This piece includes Silver Foil. 

Yes it is true I have been a dumpster diver and roamed garage sales and flea markets, hunting for curiosities, and loaded them into  my trunk  like treasure I want to take home. I have several boxes I refer to as my deep cache of materials—from glass, rosaries and bird eggs to bullets, bones, and broken mirrors and lets not forget the dice. I plan to make a dog using dice one day that will be called LUCKY DOG... HINT they will be for sale! I will be “just try[ing] to find a home for them.” These objects will find refuge and a new purpose through URABUTE art. 

The magic of creating found material art, is about examining, collecting, sorting and assembling, placing, moving, adjusting, turning, adding, removing oh yes and leaving.
